A Conversation with Studio Ghibli’s Hayao Miyazaki

We just stumbled across this conversation with legendary Japanese animator and filmmaker, Hayao Miyazaki, who was honored back in 2010 with the Berkeley Japan Prize. Of course we would never by miss an opportunity to glean the wisdom of this master filmmaker.

The Berkeley Japan Prize is a lifetime achievement award from the Center for Japanese Studies to an individual who has made significant contributions in furthering the understanding of Japan on the global stage. This event was a part of the UC Berkeley Center for Japanese Studies’ 50th Anniversary program of events (http://ieas.berkeley.edu/cjs/). Co-sponsored by: Center for Japanese Studies and Cal Performances.
