New Extended Trailer for Independence Day 2!

They just released a news third extended trailer and it looks pretty good. Although I hate how they give away so much of the plot to promote the movie. As we know, Will Smith does not seem to be in this installment.  It appears that the aliens have called home and a new attack is underway. Why did the humans not do more research into the aliens?  Who are they, Where did they come from? What do they want?  Why just wait for them to come back and then be surprised when they arrive with overwhelming force. I mean what did we expect to happen? The smart thing to do would have been to go spy on their home planet, if they have one.  Why just sit around waiting like sitting ducks?  Is Jeff Goldblum the new president?  That would be cool, finally a scientist as president.  Is the whole earth united? Let’s hope so. Anyway, this film looks like it will at least be interesting. Like Armageddon, ID4 was a really good combination of entertainment and sci-fi.  Roland Emerich is redirecting so it should be decent.

Supposedly humanity has been preparing for their return for quite some time but it turns out we are not as prepared as we thought we were.  Really?  What did we expect?  That last mother ship was probably just a scouting mission.  It looks pretty hopeless for humanity this time.

I loved the original Independence Day it was a really good sci-fi alien invasion film with the right amount of realism, fun, humor and action. The only other film I can think of that matches that description is Armageddon with Bruce Willis.

We will keep you posted on the status of this film as we find out more.
