Short Film of the Week: The Looking Planet

Check out this really cool CGI animated short film and winner of over 50 film festival jury and audience awards including Best Short Film, Best Sci-Fi Film, Best Animated Film, Best Production Design, Best Visual Effects, and Best Sound Design! Written directed and produced by Eric Law Anderson on his Mac computer! It’s about these cosmic engineers and their teenage son (In cosmic years of course!) who goes rogue on them when he discovers the Moon.

It’s very humorous, cute and has great animation.  It’s a play on the construction of the universe scenes from “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.”  If you’re a science geek you’ll love all the little quantum mechanic innuendo. Apparently this family of cosmic engineers goes around creating universes and they are constantly pushing their son and harassing him.  But, like any cosmic teenager would, he decides to run off and do his own thing.  Using his intelligent design, he takes it upon himself to make the moon part of a grander art project.  Check it out, you will be amazed. A great film for the entire family.
